My Earring Collection (And How I Organize Them)

April 4, 2024 by Jaime Leave a Comment

Need a place to store your earring collection? Here’s how I store my huge obsession and where I get my earrings!

I get random obsessions sometimes, which is pretty common with ADHD.

When I chopped off 18 inches of hair in 2021 and went to a pixie cut, I realized I had ears and wanted to stylize them. I had two piercings in each ear, but unfortunately they all closed up so I had to get them re-pierced.

Now I’ve amassed a huge collection of earrings, and I needed a place to keep them instead of in a random coffee mug I used to use.

Come take a look at my collection, and what I currently use to keep all my earrings together!

The earring holder

I don’t have a cute DIY creation for my earrings. I just went to Amazon and found a good-sized earring holder.

This one has 4 “walls” and folds up accordion-style, which is handy for small spaces.

Each wall has 5 sections for earrings, each with two rows of holes. I put my stud earrings on the top row, and my dangly earrings on the bottom row.

Honestly, I don’t have a rhyme or reason for organization here. Ideally I’d like to put all the holiday earrings next to each other, but I haven’t found the energy to get that done.

For the most part, the first wall is where I have my most-used earrings. In the evenings, I place my earrings there and just grab from that same wall in the mornings. It’s turned into a thing of convenience, really.

My LEGO earrings

My daughter Allison and I watched a Youtuber make her own LEGO earrings and I totally wanted to do it myself! The LEGO Dots have super cute designs and I wanted to be able to switch them out based on my mood.

It was as simple as sanding down a clear stud and super-gluing it to a stud earring base. From there, I can switch out whatever LEGO Dot I want.

As far as Dot storage, I use a medium-sized LEGO base to attach them. I have matching pairs for most of them, so I have those next to each other. And since they’re on this base, I have an easier time seeing them all at once and choosing what I want.

Where I get my earrings

As you can tell, I’m a bit of a nerd. Most of my earrings are Disney and video game related!

Here are some top spots where I get the majority of my earrings:

  • Femme De Bloom: This is my top site for earrings! She makes mostly Disney-themed ones but also has pop culture and other related earrings.
  • Etsy: A lot of my video game earrings I got from random Etsy stores. TheKawaiiOD is where I got my Final Fantasy stud earrings!
  • Hobby Lobby: This craft store has a lot of charms that I turn into earrings. Donuts, books, etc. They’re so cute!
