Are you obsessed with cross stitch and have way too many supplies? Here’s how I organize all of my cross stitch supplies in an easy way!
Any other crafters out there?
I’ve been doing cross stitch off and on for years. I’ll get super obsessed with some projects, and then take a year or two off. And then get right back into it again.
But cross stitching has been so good for me and my ADHD. It keeps my hands busy, and I can stitch while listening to a podcast or binge-watching Youtube videos.
My collection has been growing, and with that I needed some new ways to organize and store it all. There are always too many projects and not enough time!

Today I want to show you my storage solution for all of my cross stitch materials. It’s super simple and not perfect, but it works for my brain.
So, Hobby Lobby is less than a 5-minute drive from my house. That makes my craft obsession both amazing and unfortunate.
That being said though, I get basically all of my supplies from Hobby Lobby. You can find all of these at your local craft store, too.

Floss
All of my floss is wound up onto little bobbins. When I grab a new floss, I write the number on the bobbin with a permanent marker and then wind up the floss.
As I’ve done more and more projects, I’ve gathered more floss. And now I have 3 of these craft storage containers, which are super helpful.

In about 30 minutes, I was able to organize all of them in numerical order. So when it comes time for a new project, I can easily glance through these to see what I need to buy.

Current project
Here’s my current setup of whatever project I’m working on.
Most of my stitching is done on this spot on the couch. I have a simple fold-up table where I set my lap holder when I’m done. And the couch is home to the printed pattern of my project.

This little bag holds all of my current project’s supplies. All of the floss, a pen, a permanent marker, extra needles, and scissors. I can stick the pattern and my project, in its ring, inside this bag and take it all with me if needed.
I’ll also say: With my smaller projects that don’t have a lot of colors, I’ll just throw all the floss in this bag. But with my bigger ones, like with 40+ colors, I’ll actually use one of those craft organizers with divided sections to keep the floss in numerical order.

My craft cabinet
I got to the point where my collection actually needed its own spot for storage! I bought this larger Sterilite cabinet from Meijer and it’s the perfect size for all my materials.

The top drawer holds all of my floss, rings, fabric, and any printed patterns I haven’t worked on yet.

The middle drawer has my in-progress and completed patterns, ones that I still need to frame. As you can see, I also went through a diamond painting phase and those are now living in stasis.
The bottom drawer is just for random junk I need to find a home for, not craft-related.
So that’s my current setup! Do you do anything different? Leave a comment and tell me all of your tips for keeping cross stitch supplies organized!

My favorite pattern creators
At the moment, my favorite patterns to work on are video game and coffee related. And Etsy has been an AMAZING source of inspiration!
Here are my current favorite Etsy stores. Go show them some love!
